The Worst Thing About Blake Lively and Penn Badgley's Split

10/27/2010 1:31:00 PM by Colleen Moody

blake and penn

As we've mentioned before, celebrity breakups are no joke here at the Real Beauty offices. Whenever a split emerges we gasp, clutch our chests, stand up, sit down, stand back up, and then go to the vending machine for some chocolate. It's emotionally draining.

This little routine happened today after the news of Gossip Girl costars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley's split was confirmed. But aside from the fact that we're sad to see another celebrity couple bite the dust, we're sad for Badgley. Not because he'll never find love again, but it sure as heck won't be with someone that has comparable hair to Blake Lively.

Lively's long, blonde locks (that we fondly refer to as "My Little Pony hair") is the most unfair natural beauty gift ever. We imagine the two as a couple lounging by the fire, Penn's hands twirling through that gorgeous hair. It's bad enough the two had to split, but the breakup with that hair is almost unbearable.

If you aim for hair even remotely comparable to Lively's...fat chance. We kid, we kid! Though her hair is mostly due to genetics, to keep your long locks healthy you have to take extra precautions then you would with a shorter style. Since longer hair has a better chance of looking fried, it's important to use a deep conditioning treatment once a week (we like Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Solutions Intensive Restoration Treatment). To reduce split ends, use a strengthening shampoo like Garnier Fructis Long & Strong Fortifying Shampoo. Keep it up and maybe your hair will be the strands that attracts Badgley's eyes next.

What do you use to prevent your hair from looking limp and fried? Post your go-to products below!
