Will You Need BlackBerry Botox?
You're too young to get Botox, right? Not necessarily, according to New Jersey City board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brian Glatt. He says there is a rising trend in "BlackBerry Botox" for women who stare at their smartphones all day, which can cause facial strain between the brows and premature wrinkles.
This isn't the first technology-induced condition to surface. A few years back, doctors deemed the term "BlackBerry thumb" for patients who actually strained their fingers from too much texting. Check out Dr. Glatt's tips below to prevent having to get BlackBerry Botox:
Take a break. This might be hard to cope with, but put the phone down. Smartphone squinting all day leads to facial tension, wrinkles, and headaches.
Turn the lights down. Too much light and contrast can cause you to narrow the eyes to take in the brightness. Combat crow's feet by dimming your light in your settings.
Enlarge the text. This will help you to squint less and make it easier to read your emails, messages, and alerts.
