Bella Swan's Pale Skin
Who over the age of 13 would buy tickets to the midnight viewing of The Twilight Saga: New Moon? This girl would. My name is Colleen and I am a Twi-fan (admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery, right?). I braved the rain and mobs of teen girls last night to be one of the first to see the tortured love triangle of Jacob Black, Bella Swan, and Edward Cullen. And while clearly I have no shame in telling you this, I'll leave my feelings on vampires and werewolves aside for a moment to discuss my one problem with the film, Bella's deathly pale skin.
Now, I get why poor Kristen Stewart has to run around the set looking like a ghost. We know it rains nonstop in Forks, WA from the books and we also know that you are the company you keep. When your boyfriend is a ghastly pale brooding vampire, you may not feel the need to hit the beach together every weekend. But if they wanted any element of this film to be even remotely realistic, they completely ruined it by making Bella the same color as my white OPI Alpine Snow nail polish. We all know a woman's glow is one of the first things we (and others) notice about each other!
For those of us who want to attract someone of the opposite sex who is living and does not sparkle in the sun, or just want to look good for ourselves, a natural looking glow all year round is a great way to go about doing it. These self-tanners and bronzers will give you a sun-kissed look without overdoing it. If you have a fair skin similar to Bella's, we recommend Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer for Fair to Medium Skin Tones. It will gradually add color that matches your skin tone without making you look like you belong on an episode of True Life: I Go to the Jersey Shore. Plus, the foam is easy to apply, dries quickly and doesn't cause streaky lines. If Bella does end up with Jacob Black, she'll need to start using some of these products too, or else people will start to talk.
