Backstage Report: Vera Wang

The Inspiration: While Alice in Wonderland stirred up the designer's imagination for the collection, hair and makeup were much less whimsical. Locks were loose with wet tips and faces were shimmery with barely there makeup.
Hair: "Vera wanted organic beauty," says Orlando Pita for By Byron. "The models are supposed to appear as if they just emerged from water." To create the top "dry" part of the 'do, Pita teased tresses using By Byron Spirulina Hair Spray. The ends were coated with serum, creating a damp facade.
Makeup: As Lucia Pieroni dusts models' mugs with Clé de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancer gold powder, she describes her muse as "a gorgeous, rich Upper East Side woman, who just returned from Burning Man." Pouts were covered Clé de Peau Honey Nuts Enriched Lip Luminizer caramel lipgloss. On days when you don't feel like wearing many products, just add some gilded shimmer. "Use a big brush and place it anywhere you want highlighted, like cheekbones and temples," she says.
Nails: We finally discovered the secret for a DIY manicure when you have just five minutes to spare. "M2M DamoreJon nail polish in Fox Trot is the perfect neural," enthuses expert Daria Hardeman of the sheer nude. "You don't need a base coat because it won't stain your nail beds, and it doesn't need a top coat because it dries shiny." Hear that, Lazy Girls? Just paint two quick coats and head out to happy hour!
RB's Insider Tip: When wearing this bare-bones beauty routine, make sure your clothes and accessories pop (like Wang's dynamic duds). A bling-bling cocktail ring or killer pair of heels can make a big statement.
