Product of the Day: Lancome Palette in Vert Tendresse
The Goods: This five-color palette was used at Chris Benz's candy-colored show to add a 1960s-nightlife element to models' lids. The only downside? This quintet of colors isn't available until February.
Why It Works:"When you keep the skin and brows clean, you can take more liberties with your eye shadow hues," explains Lancôme makeup artist, Daniel Martin. "I dusted lids with a wash of the lightest shade before working the kelly green [the square-shaped pigment] along the lash line."
Backstage Tip: "Most women can be intimidated by bright eye makeup," notes Martin. "My own sister once asked me how to start wearing bolder tones, and I told her to do a Google search for makeup color wheels. If you work off of shades on opposite ends of the chart, you'll learn which contrasting colors are actually complimentary."
