Product of the Day: Clairol Perfect 10 Permanent Color

The Goods: This permanent dye was used to tint the hair of every model in Catherine Malandrino's show. At $12.98 (amazon.com) a pop, these user-friendly kits are a fashion-approved steal for women who opt out of salon appointments.
Why It Works:"Most of the models were hair virgins before we did this show," whispers celebrity colorist, Marie Robinson (who regularly works with front-row regulars, like Liv Tyler and Kate Hudson). "This product works well, and works fastwe shade-switched 11 girls in two hourswithout causing damage."
Backstage Tip: "The dyes are formulated to pick up the natural tones in your hair," adds Robinson. "So, you can get the warm, rosy highlights that will be popular for spring, without any added effort, if you select the right shade." Still a little nervous about a drugstore dye job? "Use the color swatches on the back of a box as a guide," recommends the NYC-based salon-owner. "If you stay within a range of two to three hues of your natural color, you'll be fine. But talk to your stylist if you're in doubtthey might even offer to do the application at a reduced cost."
