If there is one girl who has been on top of her hair trends, it's Ashlee Simpson-Wentz. She's been walking around town with super long, ombre tresses until recently, when she traded in her long locks for a super short platinum pixie cut.

We all know my thoughts on the pixie — love. It's adorable and every celebrity who has gotten one recently (Emma Watson, Michelle Williams, the list goes on), I have been obsessed with.

I won't say that I'm obsessed, per say with Simpson-Wentz's new 'do, but I appreciate her trying out the trend. Plus, it's adorable city, population two that her and son Bronx Mowgli have the same exact cut! I wish my mom got the same cut as me when I was younger, especially when she forced me to get that hideous bowl cut that made me look like a boy (thought I had forgotten about that, didn't you Mom?).

If you plan on going pixie this season, get a cut that works with your natural hair texture. Since the cut is so short, the room for styling, and therefore styling tools is minimal. You never want the hair to be so short that you see your scalp, but the longest layer shouldn't be longer than the lobe of your ear.
