Blake Lively's hair is talked about almost as often as Kate Gosselin's extensions or the recent Tiger Woods scandal. That's why it was a complete surprise when Herbal Essences pulled a fast one and signed not Blake, but her costar Leighton Meester to be the new face (and hair) of the brand.

Leighton's new gig will mean she'll be popping up in print ads, on the Herbal Essences site, and their Facebook page. We couldn't be more excited for Leighton but also can't help but feel bad for Blake's tresses too, so we've decided to give some love to both Upper East Side hair inspirations.

Why we love Blake's hair:

-It is the oracle for all that is great hair. As they say in Mean Girls, "that's why her hair's so big, it's full of secrets!

-Her hue is to die for.

-She has got the bounciest waves in all the land. Seriously, the volume is ridiculous!

Why we love Leighton's hair:

-She is proof that brunettes can hold it down just as easy as blondes.

-Blake might own the waves, but we love Leighton's versatility with her updos.

-Her messy curls make us swoon. Anything that wins Chuck Bass over wins us over by default.
