Simple Holiday Hairstyle
Transition from the workday to any event with this fabulous and simple holiday look.
Get Gorgeous for the Holidays
It's holiday season again, and that usually means countless parties. From work celebrations to gatherings with family and friends, holiday time means finding a million and one reasons to get fabulous! Not all holiday events call for you to be decked to the hilt, however. Sometimes it may be more appropriate to keep it simple and sophisticated. It's always best to not overdo it for holiday functions at work, and subtle looks may be a bit more appropriate when connecting with friends and neighbors.
Step 1: Moisturize
A good skin-care regimen is the best way to look great in your makeup. Moisturizing is a very big part of that. Begin every makeup routine with clean, moist skin. Using your fingers, apply moisturizer over your entire face. Try adding Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer as a cost-effective and useful step in your daily routine.
Step 2: Tame Brows
The look we are creating is all about a fabulous lip. To complement this, the rest of the face will be clean and polished, so that all of the attention will be on those perfect puckers.
Perfect your brow shape using Kiss New York Lash and Brow Wonder Lift to tame those unruly brow hairs. Fill in the brow hairs where necessary using a brow pencil. For this look we use MAC brow pencil in Stud.
Step 3: Use a Cream Base Foundation
When your look has to last all day, transitioning from work to play, it's best to apply a cream base foundation, since it will have much more staying power. For this look the lovely Michelle is using Kiss New York Cover Care Foundation (kissnewyorkusa.com). It offers great coverage with a fresh satin-like finish, while battling breakouts and excess shine. Follow up by setting with a finishing powder.
Step 4: Highlight Your Brow Bone
Highlight the brow bone using a neutral, matte shadow tone. For this look we used Iman Eye Shadow in Pearl.
Using a liner pencil, cover the entire lid below the crease with a neutral brown tone. For this look we chose MAC liner pencil in Chestnut. Line the eye with the same tone and smudge to create a soft smolder.
Step 5: Apply Fake Lashes
Apply a natural-length eyelash to add subtle impact to the eyes. Our favorite is I Envy by Kiss Premium Lashes in Au Naturale 01. Apply a hint of blush.
Step 6: Apply a Holiday Lip Tint
The icing on the cake of this delicious look is the perfect tantalizing holiday lip. With the rest of the face remaining quietly beautiful, the lips have the opportunity to really shine!
Line the lips to frame the perfect shape. Follow up with Kiss New York Intense Color Shock Lip Gloss. For this look, we chose the luxurious shade Ain't Your Girlfriend. Two other holiday favorites are Femme Fatale and I'm a Celebrity.
