Dress Color: Champagne

Light Skin Tones

Use this dress color to your advantage and copy the hue in your eye makeup. Choose beige, gold, and champagne shadows. (Try Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Buttered Bronze, $17.50; clinique.com) On lips, go with a nude or apricot lip gloss or lipstick. (Try Estée Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Peach Sizzle, $20; esteelauder.com) Avoid bright pink and red, as these hues might wash you out.

Medium Skin Tones

Choose an eye shadow palette with brown, copper, and vanilla shades. (Try Maybelline New York EyeStudio in Neutral Liaisons, $6.99; ulta.com) On lips, go for a pretty gold gloss or a bronze lipstick, but be sure to stick with neutrals. (Try Avon Glazewear Sparkle Lip Gloss in Mirage, $6; avon.com) Avoid brick red and dark brown shades since these might look garish.

Dark Skin Tones

Opt for an eye shadow palette with earth tones like dark brown and bronze. (Try Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in High Maintenance; available at Walmart stores) For your lips, go for a sheer, dark shade like brown, plum, or burgundy. (Try Mary Kay Creme Lipstick in Boysenberry, $13; marykay.com)
