Deanne Hess Loves Jessica Szohr's Smoky Eye
Since I have blue eyes, I like to really make them pop when I create a smoky eye, which is why I opt for dark navy eye shadow and a heavy black liner for my take on this sultry look.
First, I cover my entire eyelid with Laura Mercier's Metallic Créme Eye Color in Platinum ($22; lauramercier.com). This shadow will help prevent creasing and hold the rest of the look in place.
Next, I cover only half of my eyelid (from the lash line upwards) with MAC's matte eye shadow in Prussian ($14.50; maccosmetics.com). I try to concentrate most of the pigment toward my lash line and then blend upwards.
Then, I use Chanel's Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir ($34; chanel.com) to create a heavy black line on the top of my lash line (a la Kim Kardashian). I go over the line twice to ensure that it is fully filled in.
Almost done! I use MAC's Eye Kohl in Smolder ($14.50; maccosmetics.com) to line the inner upper and lower lash line.
Finally, I apply two coats of mascara in MAC's Plush Lash Black ($14.00; maccosmetics.com) to finish off the look.
