Stephanie Gage, Before
Stephanie's beauty stats: 26, fair; color-treated hair; combination skin.
"When I'm going out, I normally opt for a fuchsia lipstick," said Stephanie. "But I always get stuck on what to do with my eyes and face. I'd like to see how I can glam myself up without looking overdone."
Create a base
Natalie started with an eye shadow primer that had a bit of shimmer. (Try Urban Decay, $17, sephora.com) For evening, the key to having your makeup stay is using layers. "Always do your eyes first, then your face" says Natalie. "If you're doing a dark eye, it's easier to blot and clean up any excess with a damp sponge if you haven't made up your face yet."
Line and define
After thickening up the lash line with a creamy pencil, Natalie dabbed a waterproof liquid liner onto her hand and applied it into between the lashes with a short, stiff-bristled brush. To ensure that the line would last all night, she used the liquid to also trace over the pencil. A super-black mascara was applied to Stephanie's lashes, both bottom and top. She finished by smudging a highlighter into the inner corner of Stephanie's eye and right below the brow. (Try Benefit High Beam, $24, sephora.com)
Even out skin tone
"Stephanie has beautiful skin, and since she's 26, all she needs is a little color," Natalie says. She mixed a liquid foundation with a tinted moisturizer and used a damp makeup sponge to apply a sheer wash of color all over Stephanie's face, blending it down to her neck.

Contour and highlight
Natalie used a concealer around Stephanie's eyes, nose, and forehead and applied a light bronzer to warm up her face. "I contour by drawing a number three," says Natalie. "This motion will ensure that you hit all the essential spots." Start above the temple, trace around the eye, down into the hollow of the cheek and along the jaw line, ending near the chin. Since Stephanie's skin is so fair, a touch of soft pink to the apples of her cheeks will give her the right amount of color.

Create a long-lasting lip
Natalie primed Stephanie's lips with a creamy pencil, and used a lipstick to fill in. She finished it off with a swipe of gloss. "You don't want to be fussing with your lips all night, so make sure to layer on your lip color," says Natalie. Another option is a long-wear lip stain.

Get a perfect arch
Last, Natalie filled in Stephanie's brows. When doing your brows, the key is to use a color lighter than the hair color, since the object is to create a shadow.
Stephanie, After
"I'm thrilled about this look," says Stephanie. "I really like how my eyes pop even though I'm not wearing a ton of eye shadow. "I feel comfortable knowing that my makeup won't run everywhere, whether I'm dancing with my friends or going out on a date."
Dr. Rolanda's Skin Tips for Stephanie
Sponsored Tip
"At 25, Stephanie has healthy-looking skin, with even tone and no wrinkles or acne. In order to maintain this, she should cleanse and moisturize appropriately with products that help her control oil, especially in the T-Zone. I recommend that she uses a daily moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15, which will also help to protect her skin from long-term exposure to the sun."
