Give Blemishes TLC

Just don't pop them. Squeezing only irritates skin, making it redder and more swollen. Instead, ice the pimple for a few minutes before covering it with a liquid concealer. The cold temps help reduce inflammation.

Droopy Curls

When your spirals start to lose their shape, the best thing you can do is brush out your hair, says Nicole Piper, a stylist at Frédéric Fekkai in New York City. "You'll end up with full, loose waves that look just as pretty." A hint for next time: Mist your strands with hair spray before you wrap them around a curling iron for extra hold.

A Mismatched Face and Body

Nine times out of 10, your face looks paler than your body thanks to frequent cleansing, scrubbing, and sun protection (which is a good thing!). To even things out, apply a tinted moisturizer in a shade slightly darker than your natural skin tone, says Klein. Then, warm up your complexion with a bronzer. Apply it to your forehead, nose, and cheekbones, making sure to blend under your jaw line to your neck.

Frizzy Hair

If your strands start to expand after a spin on the dance floor, squirt a drop of shine serum in your palms (hand lotion works in a pinch), then run over the length of your hair, says Piper, who recommends Frédéric Fekkai Ironless Silky Straight Smooth Finish Serum.

Runny Mascara

Waterproof mascara is one of those beauty products you don't think you need...until you really need it. First, don't rub or you'll smear your foundation and powder, says Klein. Instead, use a premoistened cotton swab (Klein loves Smudgees) to remove any runaway eye makeup. Then, reapply your concealer and set with powder. P.S. Next time, invest in a tube of the waterproof stuff.

Styling Product Overload

"If you OD'd on smoothing cream or shine serum, spray your roots with dry shampoo or sprinkle on some talcum powder to absorb the grease," says Piper. The best way to deal with too much hairspray, gel, or mousse (all alcohol-based products) is to brush your hair until it no longer feels crunchy and stiff.

Migrating Lipstick

Nothing ruins a pretty smile faster than lipstick on your teeth, especially a bold color that really contrasts with your pearly whites. To prevent this from happening, apply a thin coat of lipstick with a lip brush beginning in the center of the lips, says Klein. "This eliminates excess pigment from bleeding to the edges." Next, gently pat some pressed powder on top of the first layer of lipstick to seal in the pigment before applying a second coat. Use a cream formula to eliminate a cakey look. We like CoverGirl Continuous Color Lipstick.

Super-Shiny Skin

It's nearly impossible to keep your skin perfectly matte during a big night out, but that doesn't mean it has to be a sweaty mess. Blotting papers are a better choice than regular face powder, which just deposits another layer of makeup. Press, don't rub, the sheet against your skin so you don't ruin the rest of your makeup.

Favor Fuss-Free Hair

If your 'do starts to droop, don't bother trying to restore it. Instead, opt for a chic ponytail. For extra flair, take a small piece of hair from underneath the ponytail and wrap it around the base to hide the elastic.

Reverse Raccoon Eyes

Even if your concealer looks fine in your bathroom mirror, the flash of a camera can make your under-eye area appear way lighter than the rest of your face. If it's too late, blend as much of the concealer away as possible using your finger or a clean makeup sponge. In the future, be sure to choose a cover-up that is no more than one shade lighter than your foundation or skin tone. Apply it only where you need it as opposed to sweeping it on your entire eye area. Try CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Concealer.

Stop a Sweat Emergency

If your deodorant is not cutting it, don't panic. Since your sweat doesn't actually smell until it comes in contact with bacteria on your skin, mop up any dampness with a paper towel and dab antibacterial hand gel under your arms to squash unpleasant odors.

Bonus: The Ultimate Beauty First Aid Kit

Most evening bags can barely fit a cell phone and lipstick, let alone a full stash of emergency beauty items. So unless you're a bride and have a bridesmaid on hand to hold all of your stuff, you should be fine with the following things:

• Hair elastic/pins

• A pop-up hairbrush (only if you really think you'll need it)

• Blotting papers (if you forget them, toilet seat covers are a great stand-in, plus they can also help with sweaty armpits better than tissues)

• Cotton swabs (for cleaning up eye makeup smears)

• A tiny tin of Altoids

• A small bottle of antibacterial gel

• One dryer sheet (great for static on both your dress and your hair)
