"I used to be a member of the 'You're Never Running Too Late to Put on Mascara' school of thought. It wasn't until I was living in Connecticut, working in Manhattan, and having to catch a 7:15 a.m. train into the city every morning that I realized that there are times when…well, you just are running too late to put on your makeup. The 30-minute commute I make to work now is nothing compared to the 120+ one I made before, but there are still days when making it out of bed in time to curl my eyelashes before I leave just isn't going to happen.
