eva mendes

Mike Marsland

Here's the scoop on exactly what Herr uses to create Eva Mendes's gorgeous look:

1. Herr is known for making Eva's skin incredibly natural and fresh looking. To do so, she starts with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $30; nordstrom.com, and then applies Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation, $42; bloomingdales.com. "For perfect coverage, always pat the foundation on the skin with a damp sponge," says Herr. "And if you have olive skin, mix a couple drops of Make Up For Ever Liquid Makeup in Camel, $38; amazon.com, into your foundation to warm up the tone."

2. Next, Herr adds some glow with a pop of cream blush to the apples of Eva's cheeks. Lately, she loves Edward Bess Compact Rouge, $38; neimanmarcus.com. "Any shade is beautiful," says Herr.

3. Because Eva has an oval-rectangle face shape and close-set eyes, Herr doesn't outline the entire eye with eyeliner (which would make eyes seem closer together). Instead, she only applies liner to the middle of each lash line, then adds a creamy, shimmery highlighter to the inner corners of Eva's eyes with a few coats of Lancôme Definicils Precious Cells Mascara, $29; nordstrom.com.

4. Eva's brows are already perfect, says Herr, so she rarely touches them. She finishes off her look with a touch of sheer lipstick (Herr often uses Lancôme shades, like L’Absolu Nu in Beige Tulle, $29; nordstrom.com) and a very light dusting of Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder, $34; sephora.com.
