Why do I break out so much?
The hormones you release as a teen cause skin cells to shed faster and oil glands to produce more oil. When your skin produces too much oil (also called sebum), it can get trapped beneath the surface, causing it to build up and become inflamed. This results in red swollen bumps on your face. To unclog your pores, look for a cleanser with salicylic acid, which works to clear out your pores. At night, use a spot treatment with benzoyl peroxide to kill the bacteria that causes acne.
