The quickest way to get rid of a new large pimple is to see your dermatologist and have it drained or injected with a cortisone shot. Short of that, patients may benefit from using OTC products like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid twice per day. However, these medications are really meant to prevent new pimples, not treat existing ones. And in case you’re wondering, I don’t recommend the "toothpaste" home remedy.
