Eric Schweiger, M.D.
Eric S. Schweiger, M.D. is Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He practices cosmetic and general dermatology, with a particular focus on laser and light based treatments, the treatment of adults with acne and acne scars, aesthetic enhancements with dermal fillers and hair restoration surgery.
Dr. Schweiger has participated in numerous basic science and clinical research studies over the years and has been a clinical laser trainer for over 3 years, teaching other physicians how to use lasers.
In clinical research, Dr. Schweigers accomplishments include initiating the first prospective clinical study using photodynamic therapy to treat hidradenitis suppurativa and conducting the first clinical trial using a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser to treat dermatoses papulosa nigra. Dr. Schweiger has also contributed to the dermatology literature, publishing numerous articles in peer reviewed journals. His contributions include several articles on the treatment of acne and he recently published the first case report using Restylane® to treat a patient with cleft-lip. When treating cosmetic patients, Dr. Schweiger skillfully employs a comprehensive, yet minimally invasive approach to enhance appearance. His methods of aesthetic rejuvenation are perfect for patients who are seeking a way to look 5-10 years younger but don't want to spend an entire month recovering from an invasive surgical procedure. Dr. Schweiger uses a combination of filler therapy, botulinum toxin injections and laser surgery to produce great results with minimal downtime. Dr. Schweiger is on faculty at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, where he teaches cosmetic and general dermatology. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan With Honors and his doctor of medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Schweiger completed his internship in internal medicine at New York University Medical Center and his dermatology residency at the University of Kansas, where he served as chief resident.
