My armpit skin appears darker than the rest of my body. Why is it like that, and is there a way to lighten it?
Darker underarm skin is caused by hyperpigmentation due to trauma to the area, such as excessive and continual shaving/waxing. The best way to soften up the appearance is to exfoliate regularly. Darkening of the skin can also be caused by hair shadowing. A hair inhibitor such as completely smooth for Body will help reduce length, growth, and density in between shaving and waxing and will help reduce ingrown hairs.
