IF YOU HAVE: INTERNAL ISSUES

  • Try: reflexology
Pressure is applied to points in hands, feet, and ears to stimulate organs and other parts of the body. "If you have a kidney infection, and I touch a corresponding spot on your foot, you would actually feel pain on that spot," explains Dawn Holder, lead beauty therapist at the Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda. "Reflexology can be painful, but you'll feel like you've had a full-body massage."
  • At home: Press your own buttons. Find a reflexology map at redbookmag.com/reflexology. "You don't have to be perfect," says Stirewalt. "Touching the general area will help." Or, try Earth Therapeutics Footsie Massager, $8, designed to hit all the right spots.

IF YOU HAVE: TROUBLE SLEEPING

  • Try: a sleep spa
It's naptime for grown-ups! Shut-eye is a major spa trend for 2007. Sleep salons, such as YeloCab and MetroNaps in New York City, offer private pods with cozy blankets and soothing sounds. Sundara Inn & Spa in Wisconsin Dells, WI, offers the Sundara Dream Facial. "Clients say they get the best sleep in our guest rooms," says lead aesthetician Tassia Waldhart. "So we brought the experience to the treatment room with feather beds and pillows." After a de-stressing facial, you are left to snooze for 25 minutes.
  • At home: Spray your pillows and sheets with a calming lavender, chamomile, or vanilla spritz. Find them in Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Sleep Collection Pillow Mist, $10.

IF YOU HAVE: TENSION HEADACHES

  • Try: a scalp and shoulder massage
"A scalp massage will alleviate tension from the crown of the head down to the jawbone," says Stirewalt. Mohonk Mountain House's Heavenly Head and Shoulders treatment not only targets the scalp but also the neck and shoulders. "Most people don't even realize how much tension they carry in these areas," says Stirewalt.
  • At home: Dab a cooling peppermint lotion where the pain is — temples, jawbone, and back of neck, advises Michelle Price of Four Hands Massage. "Peppermint oil acts like a natural cortisone cream, relieving pain," she says. Try Origins Sensory Therapy Peace of Mind On-the-Spot Relief, $10.
