Licorice

This root herb has been long praised for its calming effect on the body (usually in the form of tea). But while that may be great to reduce stress, it can backfire in the bedroom. Licorice contains the active ingredient glycyrrhetinic acid, which reduces cortisol levels and leads to lowered testosterone. “Switch out that licorice tea for hot cup of ginseng,” suggests Pasquella. “It has been shown to ramp up the effect of dopamine on the brain and even helps facilitate erections.”
