Beauty obsessions/confessions: "I am a complete chocoholic. If I see it, it has no chance. Whoops! You're talking about beauty, right? I'm also totally obsessed with Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara in Blackest Black. It makes my long lashes look even longer and gives them great definition and volume."
Keep It Simple
"Girls who wear a lot of makeup tend to come off as insecure. The more natural your makeup looks, the more people view you as being comfortable in your own skin. So stay away from cakey foundations and heavy eyeliner and maybe try a tinted moisturizer instead."
Stand Tall
"Girls who walk with their shoulders back and chins up radiate confidence. Poor posture can make you look sad, tired, or bored — which, even if you are any of those things, you probably don't want to be remembered that way. I know it's hard — this is something that even I struggle with — but it really makes a huge difference in how people read you."
Dress for You
"Having your own style lets everyone know that you're comfortable in who you are and that you aren't afraid to express it. It's so easy to take the latest trends and twist them to fit your personality. For example, I love the leather boot trend, but everyone has a pair and they all look so similar. I finally found a pair that were different ... and very me. They look like a pair of horseback riding boots, which is perfect since I love to ride! Everyone always comments on them by saying, 'Oh my gosh, those boots are so you!' And that's the best kind of compliment you can get."
Take Out the Trash
"Don't engage in trash-talking sessions. Not only is it mean, but it makes you look extremely insecure. Girls who are always talking about how so-and-so isn't pretty, smart, or talented, or sit there laughing and making fun of people's appearance, diseases, or personality, fail to realize not only that word gets around, but that saying these things reveal that they feel the need to put others down to make themselves feel superior. If you're in a situation where you're stuck in a bashing circle, you can say you disagree, tell the people involved that what they're doing is wrong, leave, or — my personal favorite — find something nice to say for every negative comment someone makes. They'll get the point."
Smile!
"Nothing screams confidence more than a smiling face. If people see that you're always in a happy mood, they'll automatically think of you as being happy with yourself. Your smile is one of the most unique and attractive physical features that you have, and if you hide it, people will assume that you're uncomfortable with showing many more things about yourself than just your happiness."
