Even with a cover-up, there's no hiding come summertime. Do these exercises three times a week to slim down and tone up the trouble areas that make you less than excited to slip on your two-piece. Next, try these tips to find the perfect swimsuit.
Kickboard Sprints: Holding onto a kickboard with your arms completely extended, kick your legs as fast as you can for one length of the pool. When kicking, keep your legs straight, bending the knee only slightly. Rest for 15 seconds and repeat, kicking back to the other side.
Areas targeted: butt, legs, thighs, abs
Superman: Hold onto the edge of the pool, keeping your arms straight. Staying in place, kick-sprint using your arms as resistance. Your legs will be pushing you forward and your arms will be pushing you back, working both muscle groups. Do one rep for 20 seconds, rest, and repeat three times.
Areas targeted: arms, legs, butt, thighs, abs
Water Tread: Moving your hands and legs in an eggbeater motion, tread water for 30 seconds as an active rest between your other exercises. To increase difficulty, raise your arms out of the water above your head.
Areas targeted: arms, legs, butt, thighs, abs
NEXT: Water exercises to strengthen and tone.
