Winter Interval Training Exercises

Don't feel like trekking it to the gym or popping in a workout DVD? Try this fun and easy interval routine outside instead:

-Snowball Fight: In your yard starting at the back, shuffle to the front and throw, shuffle back to your starting position, and duck. Repeat for two to three minutes.

-Snowboard Side Slip: Start in a squat (or exaggerated snowboard stance) and shift weight onto your right leg, picking up your left heel and holding for a count of eight. Shift onto your left leg and pick up right heel, holding for a count of eight. Repeat three to five times.

-Cross & Downhill Mix: Ski run in place (jumping back and forth with your right and left legs taking turns in the front) alternating with slalom twists (a 90 degree twist keeping feet together and centered in each direction). Try doing this for two to three minutes.
