Is it okay to fall asleep during meditation? I am new to meditation but it seems that every time I start to meditate I fall asleep. Is that normal?
Many people fall asleep while meditating. This is perfectly normal and over time will happen less and less. Try meditating for a short period of time sitting in a chair with your feet on the ground or sitting in a crossed legged position on the floor. This will help you stay awake and allow you to explore the benefits of meditation. Please do not judge yourself too harshly. The first step in meditation is to make an effort to enjoy time with your self. A sincere effort will move you in the right direction. Slowly but surely you will find your way.
