Emily Blunt's Sophisticated Feather: SCORE
"Emily Blunt pulls off this feathered band perfectly," says Pisacreta. "Peacock feathers are a huge favorite this season and it ties together the rest of her outfit nicely."
If you're starting to dabble in the world of hair flair, don't be frightened by the feather. When placed right on the head (Pisacreta recommends a chignon to start, as you can tuck the accessory right into it), feathers are subtle and just the extra touch you need to bring a look together. "In England, you can go all out with accessories (think Kate Middleton's many hats), but here we tend to keep this trend a little more subdued."
When looking for a companion for your updo, Pisacreta recommends small jeweled clips or barrettes to start. If positioned near the front or side, keep the back of your style simple.
Another must? Create a base to hold your accessory (this is especially important for fine hair). Pisacreta says the easiest way to do this is to tease the base of your hair and spray with a firm hold hairspray to keep the style secure. If jewels and feathers don't match your personality, play with extensions (yup, they're accessories too!) to get a fabulous party updo with serious volume.
