Short, bobbed hair can be styled to mimic an updo for that perfect night out on the town. Stylist Derrick Kollack uses his creative styling skills to make this look work. First, our model, Melissa, has her hair shampooed with a moisturizing shampoo. A wrap lotion is then smoothed into the hair prior to wrapping it. The hair is then dried under a hooded dryer. Derrick razor cuts Melissa's hair into spiked layers. The back is then lined up with trimmers into a V-shape. The hair is then sectioned and flat ironed into softly curled sections. A rake comb is used to swoop the hair around the head in a beehive formation, and a side bang is styled into place. Spritz is used for hold, and oil sheen is applied for shine.
