I have partial blond highlights and am looking to save some money in between salon visits. Is there a way I can touch up my highlights at home instead of going to the salon every six to eight weeks?
Fortunately with the hair trends now, roots are a little more acceptable than they used to be. In New York, roots say "I'm so busy I can't make it to the salon!" And that's just where you need to stay - in the salon. Bleaching your hair yourself is never a good idea. Two alternative options: Ask your colorist to space out your highlights for a less "light and tight" look so that they grow out softer. If your natural hair color is a mousy brown to dishwater blonde you can have a "base bump" done at the salon. This is slightly lightening your natural color so there's less contrast between the two.
