I just dyed my hair a coppery-red color. Whats the best way to keep it bright?
The smaller color molecules of red dye slip out of hair very quickly, making it difficult to keep red hair vibrant. There is no way to prevent fading, but you can slow it down by avoiding daily shampooing, swimming, and the sun. In addition to using a color-safe shampoo and conditioner, you can also try color-depositing formulas once a week. If you get your hair professionally done, ask your colorist about scheduling glosses in between your retouch appointments to keep your copper-red looking fresh.
