If I recently colored my hair should I be using a color-depositing product? How exactly do these work?

Color-depositing shampoos aren't necessary for all color-treated locks. If your blonde gets brassy or your new red shade quickly fades these products can help your color look fresher longer. The type of colorants used to revive your color love porosity (also known as dry hair), so they zero in on damaged strands and deposit boosters to make your color last. The downside to some of them? Off-tones and slight changes to the color you left the salon with.
